5/8/13  STARTING THE BLOG

This is my first effort at creating a blog. I decided to start a website this year. The website is under way, but it is very slow going. I have many ideas about medicine and healthcare in general that I want to share, and this seems like a good forum to start that. Eventually, I would like to put these ideas together into a book, and this blog will serve as my rough draft for that.

I have wanted to put together a website for many years. I have boxes of handouts and exercises, articles about nutrition, notebooks about health and prevention, and lots of ideas about healthcare (many mainstream and some alternative) that I want to share. Up to now, the idea of synthesizing all the information has been overwhelming, but technology certainly does make it easier and putting it together is now more accessible. The prospect of creating this website is exciting, and I am looking forward to working on it, a little at a time, to gradually but steadily develop a source of information for my patients, as well as an outlet for me to synthesize some ideas and concepts about medicine that I want to further develop later.

The most important part of the website will be the Patient Education tab. I will put in lots of links to articles and exercises. The blog is more personal. I will be happy to have whoever is interested read along as I create it, but I don't have any definite direction or goals with it, and I just want to see how it develops and unfolds.

10/11/14

OK. so I am admittedly not very good at writing. Or at least not good at finding time to write. But I just spent a week at The Primary care Medicine course thru Harvard in Boston, and I want to share some of what I learned. It was a 41 hour course. It was an excellent review of medicine. It was an especially long week driving back and forth. This was the schedule. In the next post, I will list some of the highlights that I learned during the week
